Jane J. Fritchie, age 100, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Milestone Senior Living under the care of Ministry Hospice. Jane was born on Dec. 28, 1919, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to the late Louis and Leona (Benebouse) Papineau.
Jane graduated from Wisconsin Rapids High School. After graduation, she was married to Almark Brenner; he passed away. She was later married to Emil Fritchie; he passed away in 2002. Jane lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She was active in several women’s clubs and organizations where she shared friendships and opinions. She enjoyed traveling, and her door and her heart were always open to her family. Jane was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faithfulness.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Lindsay; two grandchildren, Robert (Sandy) Scherff, and Lisa (Richard) Oretel. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Tyler, and Jenny; and one great-great grandson, Elliott.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Leona; her first husband, Almark, and her second husband, Emil; her brother, Lewis, Jr.; her son, James Brenner; and her son-in-law, Phillip Michael Lindsay.
Jane had the special distinction of being the third resident to have moved in to Milestone Senior Living. A special thank you to the nurses, CNAs, and staff for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her over the years. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Tomahawk.
