Ruth ‘Renee’ Verfuerth

Ruth “Renee” Verfuerth, age 83, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Milestone Senior Living surrounded by her family and friends after a courageous battle with COVID-19. Renee was born on Aug. 31, 1937, to the late Richard and Ruth (Belhumeur) Holzbach in Milwaukee, Wis. She married the love of her life, Alvin Verfuerth, in 1957 and celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing. Al and Renee raised their four children in Mequon, Wis. She enjoyed her work at Allen Bradley, Frenz’s Market, providing housekeeping and childcare and being a caregiver to family members throughout the years. Later in life, they retired to their home in St. Germain, Wis. Renee then moved to Tomahawk in 2015 to be closer to her family. Renee enjoyed spending time with her family, pontooning the Wisconsin River, taking UTV rides, attending the Fourth of July and Harley Fall Ride parades, watching movies, and visiting with her many friends at Milestone.

Renee will be dearly missed by all who knew her, including her son, Neal (Becky) Verfuerth, of Manitowoc, Wis., and David (Joy) Verfuerth, of Tomahawk; her daughter, Chrissy (Scott) Buschman, of Grafton, Wis., and her grandchildren, Cody, Brady, Bella, Jake, Luke, Nicole, Billy and Jimmy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, and her daughter, Ann.

Renee’s spirit will live on in each of the lives that she touched along her journey. All that had the opportunity to know Renee have countless stories to tell about their memories together.

Family would like to thank Milestone Senior Living and Ascension Hospice for their caring support.
