Arden “Jim” Hirsch, age 77, of Tomahawk, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander.

Arden “Jim” Hirsch was born March 13, 1943 at Riverview Hospital. Sixteen months later Jim legally became the son of August and Birdie Hirsch.

He was a loving son, brother, and a friend to many in Tomahawk. At one time he was employed with the US Postal service, transporting mail and packages from Denver to Northern Wisconsin. In the 1970s, he was stricken with a devastating diagnosis that left him with many disabilities. With all his medical problems he was a wonderful caregiver to his mother until she passed away in 1995.

Jim has been a resident at the Tomahawk Health Service since March 2020. Until COVID-19 began, he would try and help as many as he could and be a friend to all. His greatest joy was feeding the deer and the animals that wandered into the area of the residence.

He was a member of the Tomahawk Seventh-day-Adventist church.

He is survived by his sister Phyllis Alexander of Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Russell Hirsch of Denver, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews, along with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Birdie Hirsch; a sister, Jane Randolph; and a daughter, Laurie.

There will be no services at Jim’s request. He will be buried beside his parents at Greenwood Cemetery.

Krueger Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Tomahawk, is assisting the family with arrangements. You may view the full obituary and leave online condolences at www.kruegerfamilyfuneral.com.
