TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk Main Street Inc. will replace its annual Win the Window contest with a new holiday program called “We Give Thanks,” according to organizers. The event is set to run from Friday, Nov. 20 through Saturday, Dec. 5.

Main Street’s Board of Directors chose to discontinue Win the Window in favor of giving We Give Thanks a trial this year. If it is successful, Main Street will continue it in the future.

Each participating business will be displaying a valuable item for customers to enter chances in a gift drawing. Each business will also sponsor a local charity and inform customers about the opportunity to make a free-will contribution to that chosen charity.

“Businesses in the Tomahawk community aim to thank their customers for support during the challenging year 2020,” said Main Street volunteer Joan Laabs. “At the same time, businesses realize that community members have traditionally given thanks for their blessings and want to help others in need of assistance.”

Laabs noted the philosophy lead to a newly expanded slogan: “Tomahawk Together – It’s a Tradition.”

More information about the event, including gift items and charities involved, will be released in the coming weeks.
