Hatchet spikers beat Rhinelander, fall to Colby in regional match

COLBY – The Tomahawk Hatchet varsity volleyball team took on the Hodags in Rhinelander and won by scores of -20, 25-22, 25-8.

“Gracie Barnett and Lexy Millard tied for most aces with three,” said head coach Lauren Pfeifer. “Meghan Scholz led the team with three blocks and 13 kills. Amalie Kurth led the team with seven digs. Mackenzie Scholz finished with 31 assists.”

Following their win in Rhinelander, the varsity spikers traveled to Colby on Tuesday, Oct. 20 for a regional match and were defeated by the Hornets by scores of 17-25, 13-25, 23-25.

“Alyssa Zehner led the team with two aces,” Pfeifer said. “Meghan Scholz led with two blocks and nine kills, followed by Katie Pierce with five kills. Mackenzie Scholz Led the team in digs with four and finished with 19 assists.”
