William R. Schachinger Sr.

William R. Schachinger, Sr., age 84, of the Town of Little Rice, Wis., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Wauwatosa, Wis., to the late Frederick and Alvina (Schlei) Schachinger.

Bill grew up and attended high school in Wausau and later served his country in the United States Navy. Bill worked for Drott Manufacturing in Wausau as a welder for many years. He moved from the Town of Rib Mountain to the Tomahawk area 40 years ago.

Bill was an avid fisherman who loved boating and antique boat restoration. He was a former member of the Antique Outboard Motor Club, Inc. (AOMCI). He also enjoyed watching wildlife.

Survivors include three sons, William R. Schachinger, Jr., of Tomahawk, John F. Schachinger, of Sterling, AK, and Joseph P. Schachinger, of Tomahawk; and one daughter, Bethanie E. Powell, of Graham, Wash. Bill is further survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Alvina; and his beloved niece, Miranda Schachinger.
