Evelyn J. ‘Evie’ Nick

Evelyn J. “Evie” Nick, age 90, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Riverview Health Services under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Evie was born in Tomahawk on Sept. 23, 1929, to the late William and Olga (Johnson) Musson. She was formerly married to Harold Lund on Sept. 17, 1949; he passed away in 1980. Evie was later married to Thomas Nick on Aug. 17, 1991; he passed away in 2017.

Evie was a 1947 graduate of Tomahawk High School. After graduation, she worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in the Food Service Department. She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Evie was a people person; she enjoyed talking and spending time with family and friends. She was a passionate animal lover and loved dancing, especially to polka music.

Survivors include her son, Mike Lund, of Ohio; her daughter, Kathy (Festus) Schmit, of Tomahawk; four grandchildren, Ryan, Shannon, Billy, and Neil; five great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Kirk (Sheri) Nick, of Sheboygan, Wis., Katherine (David) Galloy, Melinda (Kevin) Krueger, and Mary Jo Nick, all of Tomahawk; one sister-in-law, Wilma “Billie” Lamer, of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; and one brother-in-law, Charlie Jarvis of Tomahawk.

Evie is further survived by six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Olga (Johnson) Musson; her first husband, Harold Lund; her second husband, Tom Nick; her son, Sam Lund; her sister, Shirley White; two brothers, Howard and Robert (Margaret) Musson; her granddaughter, Amber Lund; and her step-grandson, Gregory Galloy.

Funeral Services for Evelyn Nick were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk, while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Pastor Susan Christianson officiated. Visitation took place on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
