David D. ‘PETE’ Bushar Sr.

David D. ‘PETE’ Bushar, Sr., age 78, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

PETE was born Aug. 4, 1942 in Merrill, son of the late Phillip and Celia Bushar. He married Karen Vogt on Aug. 17, 1963 in the Town of Hamburg. She survives. PETE was a truck driver for Gene Bagley, Marcus Sturm, and Wausau Concrete. He also worked as a mechanic at Brickner’s and Gold Metal Trailer Sales. PETE enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, and motorcycling. But most of all PETE enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Bushar, Merrill; daughter, Amy (Terry) Baumann, Merrill; son, David (Jackie) Bushar, Jr., Merrill; eight grandchildren, Heather (Blake) Weis, East Troy, Amber (Corey) Schmidt, Florida, Michelle (Nick) Fredrick, Merrill, Theresa (Pat) Rousseau, Wausau, Erick (Jamie) Bushar and Mitchell (Kay) Peeters, both of Merrill, Jessica (Jake) Ellis, Wausau, and Jeremy (Carly) Imhoff, Merrill; 19 great-grandchildren, Tyson, Kylie, Ella Jane, Lily, Issacc, JannaKay, Collin, Hunter, Illyanna, Xena, Jewel, Chad, Fynn, Bryn, Crosby, Britney, Tatum, Hope, and Harper Grace; one great-great-grandchild, Landis; and two siblings, Phillip Bushar and Phyllis (Raymond) Gilson, both of Merrill.

Besides his parents, PETE is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Bushar; and several siblings, Kathryn (Edgar) Zimmerman, Evangeline Monti, Rosella Bushar, Louise (Al) Haring, Arnold Bushar, Freeman Bushar, Sr., Audrey (Emil) Haring, Jane Oknewski-Kleinfeldt, and Joseph, Ed, Vern, Otis, Tom, Marion, and Duane ‘Butch’ Bushar.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. PLEASE WEAR YOUR MASK AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING. Burial of PETE’s cremated remains will take place at a later date in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Town of Scott.
