Daniel ‘Dan’ Walbeck

Daniel “Dan” Walbeck, age 79, passed away peacefully under hospice care at Milestone Senior Living in Tomahawk, on June 30, 2020. Dan was born on Aug. 28, 1940, in Irma, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Anna Walbeck, his brother, Thomas Dale Walbeck, and his wife of 23 years, Lynn Walbeck.

In his early years, Dan resided in California with family, working and enjoying life. He moved to Milwaukee in the mid 60s, working and starting a family. Dan married Dalpha, and raised three boys, after moving back to the Tomahawk area. Upon returning, he went to work for Harley-Davidson where he retired after 31 years as a shipping/receiving clerk.

Dan later met and married Lynn in 1992. They retired together, spending time in Oklahoma for seven years, but eventually making their way back to the Tomahawk area in 2004. Dan enjoyed racing, fixing cars, spending time with family, and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed traveling and eating out.

He is survived by his brother, John (Janet) Walbeck; sisters, Jean Smith, Rose (Don) Smetak, Bonnie Walbeck, and Gloria Walbeck; sons, Danny (Carrie) Walbeck, Mark (Toni) Walbeck, and Jody (Sara) Walbeck;  Stepdaughter, Leanne (Rich) Lentine. Dan is further survived by his 10 grandchildren, Shelby, Cody, Kristi, Brittani, Tanner, Alicia, Michael, Rebecca, Mathew and Exxie, and his great-grandchild, Michael.

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Dan will be held at Generations Funeral Home on July 10, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Generations Funeral Home and Crematory, Tomahawk, is assisting the family. You may view Dan’s obituary and leave online condolences at www.generationsfuneral.com.
