Jane Wright

Jane Wright, age 101, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully at Riverview Nursing Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

Jane was born on March 11, 1919 in Chicago, Ill., to Mathew and Hattie (Maier) Wilson. She was later married to Ed Wright in Chicago Heights. During her life, she wore many hats. She did attend beauty school and had worked at a salon. She also had worked at a record shop, she checked odometers on Hudson cars doing time trials on roads up to 110 MPH and she also enjoyed cake decorating. Jane loved to sew all her own clothes and all of her own formal gowns. She is a lifetime member of the Starlite Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Locally, Jane taught crafts and ceramics at the Senior Center. She was very skilled at knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, painting and stamping. Jane also loved driving boats, snowmobiles, tractors, snowblowers and lawnmowers.

Of all the things that Jane has ever done, she writes, the two best things are 1. Having her son, Jim, and 2. Marrying Ed.

Jane is survived by her daughter-in-law – Patti Ward of Tomahawk; her grandchildren – Marty (Theresa) Ward of Illinois and Sunny Bengtson of Illinois; and her great grandchildren – Hunter Ward, Jenna Bengtson and Dylan Bengtson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband – Ed and son – Jim.

The Family of Jane Wright will be celebrating her life with a private Memorial Service.
