LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Health Department stated in a press release on Thursday, May 14 that a second person has tested positive for COVID-19 in Lincoln County.

The individual, who is in isolation, is in their 90s and is expected to have become infected through community transmission. The Health Department said it is contacting others with whom the person had close contact with.

Health Department Director/Health Officer Shelley Hersil asked citizens to continue to protect themselves and those around them by physically distancing from others and practicing good hygiene.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is far from over, so now is not the time to become complacent,” Hersil said. “We must continue to have resolve and think of our friends and neighbors as we help keep our community strong and healthy.”
