Anna M. Crowell

Anna M. Crowell, 84, of 701 S. Roosevelt Street, Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020, surrounded by her family and under the care of Ascension Hospice.

Anna was born on April 29, 1935 in Merrill to Oscar and Anna Margaret (Jensen) Larson. She was united in marriage to Leland W. Crowell on Sept. 17, 1955 in Merrill. He passed away in 2012. Anna was very active in the Covenant Church of Tomahawk and later the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She had enjoyed Bible study groups and had taught Sunday school. She volunteered at local nursing homes and assisted living centers. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, and especially family gatherings. Anna was also an amazing cook, baker, and enjoyed following the Packers and Brewers.

Survivors include four children; Dale Crowell, Gary (Donna) Crowell, Shari Priebe, and Mary (Greg) Gane, all of Tomahawk; and one sister, Mary Ruth Tesch of Port Edwards. Anna is further survived by eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leland, and eight siblings.

A private family committal service will take place in Spirit Hillcrest Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Tomahawk. The date and time will be announced when public gathering regulations are lifted.
