David D. Breitenfeld, age 70, of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020, at his home under the care of his family and Ascension Home Care Hospice. David was born on March 26, 1950, in Park Falls, Wis., to the late August and Marie (Drott) Breitenfeld. He was married to Joanne Otto on May 11, 1990. In the year that followed, he adopted all four of her children, making their family complete.
David grew up in the Butternut/Glidden area. He was a 1979 graduate of Glidden High School. He moved to Tomahawk in June of 1995. In his younger years, David worked in the woods with his dad and brothers, and later in life, he worked in veneer mills and sawmills. He had a love to tinker with small engines. In his 60s, he went to college in Appleton to receive his Associates Degree in Small Engine Mechanics and was proud to have been named to the Dean’s List. David was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed being at the Tomahawk Speedway cheering on CJ Hedges.
Survivors include his Wife, Joanne Breitenfeld, of Tomahawk; two Sons, Jason (Heather) Breitenfeld, and Neil (Tiffany) Breitenfeld, both of Tomahawk; two Daughters, Carrie (Mike Hass) Breitenfeld, of Tomahawk, and Heidi (David) Sepanski, of Glen Flora, Wis.; five Grandchildren, Nick, Ethan, Lauren, Bella, and Roman; and two Great-Grandchildren, Lydia and Lillian. He is further survived by his Special Nephew, Michael Breitenfeld, of Shepherdsville, Ky.
David was preceded in death by his Parents, six Brothers, one Sister, one Brother-in-Law, and one Sister-in-Law.
