Ralph Carlton Olsen, 92, of Bloomington, Ill., passed away March 25, 2020. He was born April 25, 1927 to Ralph Victor and Alice (LeBeau) Olsen in Chicago, Ill. He married Vivian Johnson on Feb. 16, 1952; she survives.
He is also survived by his children Kristine Olsen, Karl (Sandy) Olsen, Kenneth (Julie Brown) Olsen, and Kathy (Chuck) Guthrie; grandchildren Sergeant Major Jacob Reiff, Todd Timm, Jason Olsen, Lacee Vitale, Kelly Timm, Brianne Theiler, and Britta Guthrie; great-grandchildren Ethan, Luke, Brett, and Trevor Carlton Reiff, Mason and Bennett Timm, Sophie and Cash Olsen, Kate and Jack Derleth, Ryan and Vivian Skees; and cousin Carol (Jim) Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and many cousins.
Ralph served in the United State Navy from 1944 to 1948 in the Pacific theater with his rank being Machinist’s Mate Second Class. After his Honorable Discharge, he went on to become a self-employed painter until his retirement.
Cremation rites have been accorded. East Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials may be made in Ralph’s name to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
