TOMAHAWK – A local company has found a way to lend a hand to people who may be stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bear Renovations in Tomahawk is offering free pickup and delivery from grocery stores and area restaurants for those who need help getting daily necessities.

“We’re just trying to help out with the disabled, the elderly, and ones with compromised immune systems,” said Mike Barnes of Bear Renovations. “With this kind of virus going on, there are plenty of people afraid to leave their homes, for good reason, and we just thought, ‘Well, let’s throw in our support and donate a few trucks and guys to help them out and get them whatever they need.’”

A post on Bear Renovations’ Facebook page about the service has over 750 reactions and 650 shares. Barnes said the deliveries were originally only being done within a 15-mile radius from Tomahawk, but after receiving a call from a Brantwood resident asking if the company would drop off supplies that far from Tomahawk, he decided to expand the area.

Barnes said he hopes bringing homebound people things like hot meals from their favorite local restaurants will return some normalcy to their lives.
