Andrew R. Kiander

Andrew R. Kiander, age 57, of Tomahawk, Wis., passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family. Andy was born on Aug. 14, 1962, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to the late Arvid and Marjorie (Newton) Kiander. He was married to Luann Muusse on Oct. 21, 1988, in Jenison, Mich.; she survives.

Andy grew up in Grand Rapids, where he graduated from Central High School and later attended the University of Michigan, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He entered the workforce, beginning employment at the Attwood Corporation and finished his career at LP, having worked there for 30 years between the Ketchikan, Alaska, and Tomahawk plants. Andy was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church. He had a passion and respect for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and all the Northwoods had to offer. His Faith in God and his love of family was his priority. Andy was active in his children’s activities whether coaching youth hockey or being his daughter’s biggest fan in swimming. As the kids got older, he continued to show them love and support in each path they took and decisions they made. Andy was a man of strong mind and character, a mentor, and dedicated to his family; he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his Wife, Luann Kiander, of Tomahawk; two Sons, Alex (fiancé Hayley Schreiter) Kiander, of Madison, Wis., and Jared (Baylee Ernst) Kiander, of Tomahawk; one Daughter, Marlee Kiander, of Grand Rapids; three Brothers, Arvid (Marianne) Kiander, of Cedar Springs, Mich., Tom (Vivian) Kiander, of Goffstown, N.H., and Eric (Diana) Kiander, of Grand Rapids; two Sisters, Mary (Jerry) Castle, of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Martha Jean (Gerard) Kiander, of East Grand Rapids. He is further survived by several special Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Arvid and Marjorie.
