Lincoln County declares state of emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic

FOR THE TOMAHAWK LEADER

LINCOLN COUNTY – Lincoln County has declared a State of Emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The declaration gives Lincoln County Board Chairman Bob Lee emergency powers to do business related to the pandemic should the full board or its committees be unable to carry out necessary functions.

Along with declaring a state of emergency, the Lincoln County Administrative and Legislative Committee passed a resolution limiting the entry of some county buildings and urging citizens to utilize email and phone to contact county departments you’re seeking services with.

“Stay home if possible, call your friends and family to check on them, let us come together and help each other,” said District 13 Supervisor Calvin Callahan. “We will get through this. Pray.”

The City of Tomahawk and the City of Merrill declared states of emergency last week.
