COVID-19 closings and cancellations

Below is an up-to-date list of local closings and cancellations due to precautions regarding the spread of COVID-19. This list of closings and cancellations will be updated regularly. To add a closing or cancellation to this list, call the Tomahawk Leader at 715-453-2151 or email [email protected].

 

City of Tomahawk

The Tomahawk Leader office is closed temporarily. Email [email protected] for news services, email [email protected] for advertising services, or call the Leader office at 715-453-2151 for either service over the phone.

Tomahawk City Hall is closed. Call 715-453-4040 to make an appointment or to absentee vote in-person.

Tomahawk Municipal Court is closed but can be reached by phone or email at 715-539-3714.

All Tomahawk Park and Recreation programs have been cancelled, including those at SARA Park.

Tomahawk City meetings and non-essential city meetings will be cancelled until further notice.

The Tomahawk Senior Center will be closed to non-essential public gatherings until further notice.

The Tomahawk Public Library is temporarily closed to the public until further notice. Visit the library’s website (www.tomahawk.lib.wi.us) for updates on closures and cancellation of programs.

 

Lincoln County (in effect as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, until further notice)

Courthouse: Open to the public (for court-related purposes only) at this time, with significantly scaled back court operations. No public access for Wi-Fi use.  Individual departments may be closed within the Courthouse. Please email or call before going to conduct business for the following offices: Clerk of Circuit Court, Register in Probate/Clerk of Juvenile Court, District Attorney, or Victim Witness.

Health Department: Closed to the public with the exception of an appointment arranged in advance.

Highway Department: Limited lobby access by appointment arranged in advance. No public access to any shop areas.

Lincoln County Service Center: Closed to the public with the exception of an appointment arranged in advance. The following departments are located within the Service Center: Administration, County Clerk, Corporation Counsel, Emergency Management, Finance, Forestry, Information Technology, Land Services, Maintenance, Register of Deeds, Treasurer, and UW Extension.

Sheriff’s Office: Administration lobby is closed to the public with the exception of an appointment arranged in advance. The jail lobby will be closed to the public. Inmate visitations will continue (HomeWave) from remote sites. Canteen funds can be mailed to the jail for inmates. Attorney and other professional visits will continue. However, persons arriving for such visits will have to use the call box to summon a Correctional Officer to be let in for visits.

Social Services: Limited public access to some programs, but only by appointment arranged in advance.

Solid Waste/Landfill: Scale window (only) open – normal business hours. No public access to scale building.

Board of Supervisors: County Board and Committee meetings are being reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Unless otherwise noted in the public meeting notice posted on the county website, until further notice, meetings will be held via teleconference. Public access instructions (via teleconference) will be posted online as part of the meeting notices.

 

Oneida County

 All Oneida County Offices will be closed from Wednesday, March 25, until 8 a.m. on Friday, April 24. Oneida County is still providing essential/critical services during this time. Customers can find additional information about services and contact information by visiting the County website at www.co.oneida.wi.gov.

 

City of Merrill

City Hall will be closed for all walk-in services except for in-person absentee voting, which can be done at the Clerk Treasurer’s Office service window. Payments can still be made on-line or in the drop box outside of City Hall. City Hall offices will still be staffed so that citizens can call for an appointment when needed during regular working hours.

 

Churches

All public Masses, Lenten activities and events at St. Mary’s in Tomahawk, St. Augustine in Harrison, and St. Francis at Pier Willow have been cancelled.

Tomahawk and Spirit United Methodist Churches have cancelled services through April 5. At that time they will evaluate what to do about Passion Week and Easter Services.

St. Paul Lutheran Church’s 10th annual free Community Easter Dinner scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at Rodeway Inn & Suites in Tomahawk has been cancelled.

 

Other closings, cancellations

The Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of Tomahawk scheduled to take place at Inshalla Country Club Saturday, March 21 has been rescheduled for May 16.

Production at all Harley-Davidson plants, including both Tomahawk facilities, has been suspended until March 29.

The WJJQ Home, Sport and Travel Show with Health Expo scheduled for April 4 and April 5 at the Tomahawk School District has been cancelled.

All Tomahawk area school buildings are closed through at least April 6.

All Never Forgotten Honor Flights scheduled through May 31 have been postponed.
