Geraldine A. Schumann, age 72, of Tripoli, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. Gerri was born on Oct. 27, 1947, in Green Bay, to the late Willard and Ione (VanDeHei) Gerrits. She was married to James Schumann on Feb. 14, 1970, in Pier-Willow, WI; he passed away in 2011.
Gerri was a high school graduate of Romeoville High School in Illinois. After graduation, she entered the workforce. Jim and Gerri later moved to the Northwoods, where she was employed as a teacher’s aide with the Prentice School District, and also worked at the Tri-Mart BP in Tripoli. Gerri enjoyed reading, playing Sudoku, and knitting. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Gerri was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk.
Survivors include: two Sons, Larry (Treasa) Schumann, of Ladysmith, WI, and Kevin (Jacki Grigg) Schumann, of Tomahawk; two Sisters, Rose (Dana) Kiesling, of Illinois, and Barbara “Barbie” Smerud, of Texas. Gerri is further survived by her Grandchildren, Alec, Peyton, Trevor, Zach, Shelby, Alyssa, and Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Willard and Ione; her Husband, Jim; one Brother, Larry, and one Sister, Ginny.
Memorial Services for Geraldine Schumann were held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk. Rev. Larry Mathein officiated. The family received friends for Visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of Services at 11 a.m.
