Ronald O. Barr, age 79, of Tomahawk, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Ron was born on Nov. 23, 1940, in Tomahawk, to the late William and Alta (Jordan) Barr. He was married to Rosanne Smith on Aug. 25, 1984; she survives.
Ronnie attended school in Tomahawk and began employment at Johnson Brothers Construction, Paul Renn Masonry, and later Daigle Brothers. He spent many hours in the woods logging and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes and pool, and karaoke singing. Ronnie was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a former member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his Wife, Rosanne Barr, of Tomahawk; one Daughter, Tammy (Norm Desmarais) Smith, of Tomahawk; one Sister, Dar Byorni, of Superior; three Grandchildren, Dulcie Smith, Cheyenne Rogers, and Cole Desmarais; and his Mother-in-Law, Rose Smith, of Tomahawk. Ronnie is further survived by four Brothers-in-Law, two Sisters-in-Law, and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, William and Alta; four Brothers, Bill, Dick, Abe, and Donnie; two Sisters, Doris Marquardt and Marlene Barr; his Father-in-Law, Clarence Smith, Sr.; his Brother-in-Law, Randy Smith; and his Nephew, Joel Jones.
A Celebration of Life for Ronnie Barr was held on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk. The family received friends for Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of Services at 11 a.m.
