Jane Fritchie celebrates 100th birthday at Milestone in Tomahawk

FOR THE TOMAHAWK LEADER

TOMAHAWK – When Jane Fritchie moved into Milestone Senior Living in Tomahawk, she had the distinction of being the third resident to have moved in. Per her daughter Lynda, she loved the staff and her new home.

She is known for the love of laughter and is very willing to share her friendship and opinions. Her religion means a lot to her, and she has always been active in the Lutheran Church, per her daughter.

Jane loved to travel and did so with both of her husbands. She often tells staff she had the two best husbands in the world.

She has four grandchildren and one great-great grandson, who she adores.

Her daughter flew in from Arizona, along with her granddaughter and great-grandson attending her special celebration. Staff rolled out the red carpet for Jane, and Pastor Gillette started the event with a prayer over Jane. Lynn Grube personally serenaded her before her favorite band ‘The Rusty Reed Benders’ played.

She had a permanent smile as she was surrounded by many friends and beautiful bouquets. Governor Evers sent her a Birthday Certificate. Representative Mary Felzkowski hand delivered a Citation by the Legislature, which she presented to Jane on behalf of Senator Tiffany and herself.

Jane feels blessed to have reached 100 years old and the opportunity to celebrate, exclaiming, “I am queen for the day!” as she wore her special crown, sash and smile.
