ONEIDA COUNTY– A Wausau woman charged with two felony homicide counts will see her case move forward, according to court records.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, Judge Michael H. Bloom determined that sufficient evidence exists for the case involving Brenda S. Reiche, 49, to proceed.
Reiche is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and homicide by use of a vehicle with PAC. She pleaded not guilty to both counts.
On Aug. 4, 2018, the UTV Reiche was operating left the roadway on The Point Road East in the Town of Nokomis and struck a tree. The passenger, Adam Rietz, 49, of Athens, died at the scene. Reiche received serious injuries in the incident.
It was determined at the time of the accident that Reiche was under the influence of intoxicants.
Reiche will appear in court again on April 14. She could face up to 25 years in prison for each felony charge if convicted.
