Harley J. Grant

Harley J. Grant, age 71, of Tomahawk, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at Milestone Senior Living. Harley was born on April 4, 1948, in Baraboo, WI, to the late James and Alma (Aidee) Grant. He was married to Laura Knaub on June 2, 2002; she survives.

Harley grew up in Wisconsin Dells, where he was a 1966 graduate of the Wisconsin Dells High School. After high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, graduating in 1970. Harley lived in Slinger, WI, where he worked as a credit analyst for Brunswick Corporation and later Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, WI, retiring in 2009. Harley and Laura spent many summers at their home on Lake Nokomis before moving to the area permanently several years ago. Harley volunteered on projects for Habitat for Humanity and also was a volunteer for Interfaith. He especially loved the outdoors. He enjoyed downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and pontooning. Harley was a proud champion power walker, receiving many medals over the years. In his younger years, he coached boys and girls soccer. Above all, Harley loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his Wife, Laura Grant, of Tomahawk; three Sons, Matthew Gresen, of Two Rivers, WI, Jonathan (Jian) Grant, of Taiwan, and Nathan (Wendy) Gresen, of Erin, WI; three Daughters, Missy Gresen, of Jackson, WY; Kathryn (Campus) Johnson, of New York, NY; and Meghan Gresen, of West Bend, WI; two Brothers, Roger Grant, of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Lester Grant, of Baraboo, WI; six Grandchildren, Camrynn, Lorna, Giselle, Jasmine, Cora, and Aidan; Special Friends, Bob and Devon Spiegel, of Slinger, WI. Harley is further survived by his In-Laws, Nieces, and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, James and Alma; and two Brothers, Donald and Orville.

Funeral Services for Harley Grant were held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tomahawk. The received friends for Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Services at 11:30 a.m. Fr. Louis Marram Reddy officiated. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in the Spring.
