As reported Monday, Dec. 23, 2019:

A Merrill woman, 20, was arrested this past Monday morning on a warrant charge. The woman came to the lobby of the Safety Building and informed staff she was wanted. A check showed a warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for probation violation.

Three people were injured after a three-vehicle crash last Monday morning in the Town of Pine River. At 10 a.m., 911 calls reported the crash at State Rd. 64 at State Rd. 17. According to the deputy who investigated the crash, an eastbound vehicle being driven by a Merrill woman attempted to turn north onto State Rd. 17, crashing into a westbound vehicle being driven by a Merrill man. The turning vehicle then collided with a pickup truck driven by a Deerbrook man, which was turning west onto State Rd. 64 from State Rd. 17. Ambulances transported the injured to hospitals in Merrill and Wausau. Pine River firefighters and law enforcement closed part of State Rd. 17 for about an hour as the scene was cleared.

A Gleason man, 40, was arrested late Tuesday evening on a warrant charge. A deputy stopped the vehicle the man was driving on County Rd. K in the Town of Scott for an equipment violation. A check showed the man was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violating the terms of his probation. The man was also cited for driving on a revoked license as a repeat offender.

A Tomahawk man, 57, was arrested Thursday evening on a felony charge. Deputies went to the man’s home in the Town of Bradley off of County Rd. E after a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance. The man was found to be out on a bond through Lincoln County, which prohibited him from drinking. He was brought to the jail on a felony count of bail jumping.

A Merrill man, 26, was arrested late Friday evening on a charge of bail jumping. Deputies went to an establishment in the Town of Merrill after receiving a report of a man drinking in violation of his bond. They found the intoxicated man and confirmed he was not allowed to drink as part of a bond in an open case in Marathon County. The man was charged with a misdemeanor count of bail jumping. He will be summonsed into court on misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after the drug and a pipe to smoke it were found in his pocket.

The number of deer crashes has increased over previous weeks, with 17 being reported.
