Oneida County ski and snowshoe trails set to open in excellent conditions

Oneida County cross country ski and snowshoe trails are open and in excellent shape for the holiday season. The 30+ inches of snowfall has resulted in over a foot of compacted base on the trails.

The Washburn Silent Sports Trails are groomed for both skate and classic skiing; Cassian Two-Way Trail is groomed for classic skiing; and the Nose Lake Trail is groomed for classic skiing and allows dogs on the trail. The Enterprise Winter Recreation Trail is partially groomed with some trails needing final freezing before grooming. Trail reports are available at http://rastatrails.org/trail- conditions.

Use caution while on the trails as there may be areas that have not fully frozen. A trail pass is required for all persons aged 18 years or older. Trail passes and maps are available at all trailheads, the Oneida County Chamber of Commerce and the Oneida County Forestry Office.
