Joan Helen Jacobson Bugarin

Joan Helen Jacobson Bugarin, age 84, of Tomahawk, passed away on Nov. 19, 2019 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston. Joan was born in Appleton on Sept. 5, 1935 to Marie Balck and John Jacobson.

She grew up in Rothschild and attended the old Wausau East High School. She graduated from Evangelical Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing with a Registered Nursing Degree. Joan married Dr. N.L. Bugarin on Jan. 19, 1956 in Wausau.

Joan and Nony moved to Tomahawk in 1961. She worked at Golden Age Nursing Home, Sacred Heart Hospital, and Family Clinic. Through the years, she enjoyed playing bridge and having great friends. Joan was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and Past Guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel. She belonged to Grace Lutheran Church.

Joan is survived by her son – John and two grandchildren – John Jr. and Kathleen. She is further survived by many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Nony and two sons – Robert and James.

The Memorial Service for Joan Bugarin took place at 11 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2019 at Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk. Visitation took place from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Joan was buried next to Nony in Greenwood Cemetery.
