Joel F. Bucaro

Joel F. Bucaro, age 70, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston. Joel was born Dec. 9, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to the late Samuel and Ruth (Rada) Bucaro. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Terry Yirsa, on June 6, 1970; she survives.

Joel grew up in Stickney, IL, and was a 1966 graduate of the Morton West High School in Berwyn, IL. After high school, Joel worked at the National Tea Company as a produce manager and later was a self-employed auto mechanic in Lyons, IL. Joel and Terry moved to Sayner, WI, in 1984 and made Tomahawk their home in 1985. Joel was an auto mechanic in Merrill before beginning his employment at the area Trig’s Grocery Stores.

In his younger years, Joel enjoyed playing baseball and drag racing. An avid sports fan, he loved watching the Bears and White Sox and following the Brewers and Badgers. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing and traveling. Above all, Joel cherished time spent with his family.

Survivors include his Wife, Terry Bucaro, of Tomahawk; one Son, Joel “Sonny” (Diane) Bucaro, of Wauwatosa, WI; one Daughter, Jill (Jeff) Bucaro-Campbell, of Pasadena, CA; His Brother, Terry (Millie) Bucaro, of Beverly Hills, FL; His Sister, Sharon (Bob) Hoskin, of Rewey, WI; and three Grandchildren, Salvatore, Felix, and Simon. Joel is further survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sam and Ruth.

A Memorial Service for Joel Bucaro was held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at 1 p.m., at Generations Funeral Home, Tomahawk. The family received friends for Visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of Services at 1 p.m. Rev. Don Rhody officiated. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family.
