Robert J. “While-A-Way Bob” Lekfield, age 72, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Bob was born on May 2, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Robert and Audrey (Altmann) Lekfield. He proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 in the 573rd Company (FB). He married Beth Ann Miller on March 16, 1968; she survives.

Bob grew up in Brown Deer, WI, and attended school in the Milwaukee area. Bob and Beth lived in West Bend, WI, for a number of years before moving to Nokomis in 1976, where they owned and operated While-A-Way Resort until their retirement in 2007. Bob was an active member of the Nokomis Fire Department since 1976 and was currently titled Assistant Chief Emeritus. He enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycling where he belonged to several clubs, including the Ozaukee Guzzler M.C. Bob loved traveling with Beth, going on hunting and fishing trips, and watching the wildlife around his home. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his Wife, Beth Lekfield, of Tomahawk; one Son, Robert S. (Jerry) Lekfield, of Dallas, WI; one Daughter, Ashley (Dean) Goulet, of Weston, WI; one Brother, Ricky Lekfield, of Milwaukee, WI; his Sister, Robin (Todd) Rasmussen, of Muskego, WI; two Brothers-in-Law, Dick (Cindy) Miller, of Milwaukee, and Tom (Rose Marie) Miller, of Whippany, NJ; three Grandsons, Zachary, Emmet, and Landon; and one Granddaughter. Bob is further survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Robert and Audrey; his Father and Mother-in-Law, Samuel and Anita; one Nephew, Tom; his Sister-in-Law, Faith; and his Furry Companion, Sandy.

Funeral Services for Robert Lekfield were previously held. Interment was held at Prairie Rapids Cemetery.
