Hatchet spikers drop three at GNC Meet in Antigo

The Hatchet spikers will look to right the ship this Thursday, Sept. 24 when they host Athens, Prentice and Rhinelander for a quad after dropping three hard-fought GNC matches in Antigo Saturday.

One of those games was to Antigo in three straight sets. The red birds would take the first one 28-26 before a second hard-fought battle went the way of Antigo by a score 35-33. The Robins would go on to take the third and final set by a score 25-23.

Tomahawk would fall 1-3 to Northland Pines by scores 16-25, 17-25,25-13 and 14-25 before taking on Mosinee. The Indians also managed to take down the Lady Hatchets in three straight sets by scores 21-25, 24-26 and 14-25.

Natalie Zastrow led the Hatchets in Antigo in aces with 11. Mady Hanse had 32 digs followed by Morgan Ernst with 24. Megan Scholz had 10 blocks and Richelle Swan led Tomahawk with 44 assists and N. Zastrow finished with 37. M. Hanse also led the team in kills with 33 followed by Katie Pierce with 18 and M. Scholz with 17.

The Hatchet quad gets underway tomorrow (Thursday) at the Hatchet Fieldhouse at 5 p.m.
