FOR THE TOMAHAWK LEADER

RHINELANDER – Beginning Friday, Sept. 6, students planning on attending Nicolet College in the Spring Semester of 2020 can apply for scholarships from the Nicolet College Foundation to help cover the cost of tuition and books.

The Foundation expects to award about 100 scholarships, ranging in value from $250 to $1,250, said Nicolet College Foundation Executive Director Heather Schallock.

“We strongly encourage any students planning on attending Nicolet during Spring Semester to apply for a scholarship,” Schallock said. “We know that paying for college is often a challenge for students and scholarships can go a long way in helping students meet that challenge.”

Applications must be submitted online at nicoletcollege.academicworks.com. The Foundation will begin accepting applications Friday, Sept. 6, and will continue to do so until Monday, Sept. 30.

Scholarships are available for both new and continuing students enrolling at Nicolet this coming Spring Semester.

Students taking nine or more credits per semester can receive up to $1,250 in scholarships. Students taking three to eight credits per semester can receive a $250 part-time scholarship. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

Schallock noted that the scholarships are available only because of the generosity of Foundation donors.

“They truly believe in the value of a college education,” she said. “They see how it can improve the lives of individuals and also benefit the communities in which graduates live and work.”

For more information about scholarships, contact the Nicolet College Foundation office at 715-365-4518; 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4518; TTY 1-800-947-3529 or 711; or by email at [email protected].
