StrongBodies fall 2019 registrations available

Programs to be held in Tomahawk and Merrill

LINCOLN COUNTY – StrongBodies is an evidence-based strength training program developed at Tufts University aimed at mid-life and older women and men. Programs will be offered in both Tomahawk and Merrill for fall 2019 beginning on Monday, Sept. 9.

In Tomahawk, classes will be held on Monday and Thursday each week at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 1104 School Road, Tomahawk. In Merrill, classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday each week at either 7:50 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. at the Merrill Enrichment Center, 303 North Sales Street, Merrill. Each class is one hour in length.

All women and men can benefit from strength training. The benefits of strength training have been studied extensively and include: increased muscle mass, strength and improved bone density as well as many more benefits physically and emotionally.

The StrongBodies Program includes progressive resistance training, balance training, and flexibility exercises. These exercises are safe and effective for all ages, including those who are not in perfect health.

Sales Street in Merrill or by calling 715-539-1072 to request one be mailed.
