David W. Dettmering, age 77, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully at his home on July 23, 2019.
Dave was born on September 8, 1941 in Waukesha, WI. He was employed with Husco Company for a long time. He was formerly married to Norma Jean Fehrman and together, they have three children. In 1995, Dave moved to Tomahawk from Waukesha. In 1996, Dave was married to Helene (Nash) Hoglund. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and golfing. He loved his dog Lucky and making golf clubs. He is a former Lions Club member and a current member of Grace Lutheran Church.
David is survived by his wife- Helene Hoglund of Tomahawk; his children – Cindy Bortmess of Sun Prairie, David (Jane) Dettmering of Prentice & Dion (Sherri) Dettmering of Tripoli; four step- children – Tom (Kathy) Hoglund of Chicago, Tim (Mary) Hoglund of Tomahawk, Matt (Janet) Hoglund of Fall Creek and Ann (John) Kangas of California; he is further survived by 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren & his sister – Fern (Curt) Hopper of Waukesha.
The Memorial Service with Military Rites for David Dettmering took place at 1:00PM on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Ziemer officiated. Visitation took place from 12:00PM until the time of service at 1:00PM.
