Oshkosh’s Copper Box bringing “one big party” to Tomahawk

FOR THE TOMAHAWK LEADER

TOMAHAWK – Tomahawk’s Music on the River (MOR) continues its 12th summer concert series tomorrow (Wednesday) at Veterans Memorial Park along the Wisconsin River in Tomahawk. This week’s free concert features Copper Box, from Oshkosh. Copper Box, an award-winning WAMI winner, is an accordion-fueled, roots rock party! Threads of blues, rock, zydeco and polka are all fused together in a genre-blending celebration. One big party!

All MOR concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Attendees are invited to come by car, foot or boat. SARA Park’s indoor arena on West Somo Avenue will be used in the event of rain.

Following Copper Box’s performance tomorrow night, the final 2019 Tomahawk Music on the River concert on July 24 features The Jimmy’s, a returning high-energy favorite. The band has won multiple awards many times over from both the Wisconsin Association of Music Industry and Madison Area Music Association. This group features blues, soul, funk, fantastic horns, guitars, dynamic keys and a hot rhythm section. The Jimmy’s were named Best of Madison Local Blues Band in 2019.

MOR executive sponsors are Tomahawk Community Bank, Support Tomahawk Area Resources, Cerny’s Greenhouse and Jeff and Gail Arnold. The other major funding source for the continuation of these free summer concerts are the birdhouses found on the concert grounds. Donations are greatly appreciated.

For additional information, contact Cathy Meyer at 715-453-7508. To receive the latest news and concert updates, like MOR’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TomahawkMusicOnTheRiver.
