After falling to Rhinelander earlier in the season, the Tomahawk Cubs returned the favor Wednesday at Tyler Kahle Field getting the 10-5 win in American Legion ball.
The win was part of an impressive run the Cubs put together over the week. Winners of four of their last five during the stretch, Tomahawk took down Marathon by scores of 5-3 and 7-3 to make it a sweep on the road. Among the highlights from Marathon, Tony “The Legend” Matti hit a monster blast over the outfield wall to homer and help give the Cubs the win.
The only loss Tomahawk had during the hot run came in Park Falls earlier in the week. After winning the first of the doubleheader in shutout fashion by a 7-0 score, Park Falls came back to win game two by a score 7-2.
