Robin ‘Rob’ L. Collette

Robin “Rob” L. Collette, age 80, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his residence under the care of his family and Compassus Hospice. Rob was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Jan. 20, 1944, to the late Wilfred and Margaret (Omelina) Collette. He was married to Diane Bethel on June 22, 1974; she survives.

Rob attended college at the age of 30, receiving his bachelor’s degree in sociology. He volunteered his time teaching CPR and First Aid with the American Red Cross. Rob’s job with the TSA took him to many cities for “train the trainer.” Because of Diane’s job with the airlines, he traveled to many international destinations. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the guitar, song-writing, and singing. Rob also loved playing sheepshead, bridge, and scrabble. He was an avid golfer, and, in his younger years, enjoyed bicycling and playing tennis. He was a faithful member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Collette, of Tomahawk; his brothers, Chris Collette, of Grand Ridge, Fla., and Paul Collette, of Farmers Branch, Tex.; his sisters, Leslie Baiocco, of Colleyville, Tex., Mary Alice Collette, of Plano, Tex., and Justine Townsend, of Marco Island, Fla.; and his cousin, Robert Omelina, of Minocqua, Wis . Rob is further survived by his in-laws, the Bethel Family and the Dahlstrom Family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred, Sr., and Margaret; and his sister, Catherine Collette.

Diane would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her family for their love and support and to Compassus Hospice and Tomahawk Health Services for the wonderful care given to Rob throughout his illness.

Memorial services for Robin Collette will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. Inurnment will be at the Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw, Wis. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
