LINCOLN COUNTY – The new Chair and Vice-Chair of the Lincoln County Board of Supervisors have been elected, and seven new board members have been sworn in.

Boyd

During its meeting at the Lincoln County Service Center in Merrill on Tuesday, April 16, the board voted to elect District 10 Supervisor Jesse Boyd as Board Chair and District 12 Supervisor Julie DePasse as Vice-Chair.

Boyd, District 1 Supervisor William Bialecki and District 21 Supervisor Eugene Simon each received nominations for Board Chair. Boyd ultimately garnered the most votes.

Boyd, who previously served as Board Vice-Chair, replaces former Board Chair Don Friske, who, in this month’s Spring Election, was defeated by Christine Vorpagel in his bid to serve another two-year term as District 9 Supervisor.

DePasse

DePasse, Bialecki and Simon were each nominated for Vice-Chair, with DePasse emerging as the top vote-getter.

During the meeting, all 22 Supervisors took their oaths of office. Among those sworn in were seven new board members: Vorpagel, District 4 Supervisor Derek Woellner, District 5 Supervisor Andrew Zelinski, District 7 Supervisor Donald J. Dunphy, District 13 Supervisor Alan Bishop, District 14 Supervisor Marguerite Lyskawa and District 19 Supervisor Joseph M. Dorava.

The board also recognized outgoing members Friske, Steven Osness Jr. (formerly of District 4), Donald Wendorf (District 5), Greta Rusch (District 7), George Brixius (District 13), Brian Hafeman (District 14) and Julie Allen (District 19).

The board’s next meeting will be held at the Service Center on Tuesday, May 21 at 6 p.m.
